The 6th Annual 2nd Street Festival

The 2nd Street Festival descends upon Northern Liberties for its 6th year in a row, and it will feature its usual beer gardens, street vendors, food trucks, children’s activities, and more. And also returning will be its 3 stages of music, programmed by the Philadelphia Folk Society before they gear up for their annual Philadelphia Folk Festival. Maxx Stoyanoff-Williams and the rest of Black Landlord will return to the main stage with their supercharged blend of hip hop and rock, and DRGN King will surely impress with their high-energy performance. TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb will croon audiences with their boozy blues-tinged tunes before they embark on a southern tour, while Weird Hot will seduce the crowd with their frothy mixture of dance rock and sensual ballads. The rest of this year’s lineup will be rounded out by the likes of Pine Barons, Needle Points, Mock Suns, Lovers League, and more. 2nd Street Festival, N. 2nd St Between Green and Germantown, 12pm, Free, All Ages - Bill McThrill

Photo Recap: 2nd Street Festival 2013

You really couldn't ask for much better weather this past Sunday for 2nd Street Festival. There were plenty of music lovers, drinkers, foodies, children and pets roaming the streets of Northern Liberties. While crowds for some of the music sets were a bit thin in comparison to past years (as we had expected), we still had another great time at the fest with friends and acts like Vacationer, West Philadelphia OrchestraOn the Water and many others keeping all thoroughly entertained. You can check out some of our photos of things that we came across while enjoying the day HERE. (Photo by Rachel Barrish)

Weekend Warrior, August 2 - 4

We always look forward to 2nd Street Festival. Like we’ve mention before, it’s the closest feeling that we get in Philly to hanging out in the streets of Nawlins. While its pretty obvious this year’s headliner The Low Anthem will have a difficult time matching the energy of their predecessors tUnE-yArDs and Man Man, the recruitment of hometown favorites like Vacationer, On the Water, West Philadelphia Orchestra, The Bailey Hounds, Mohican, Weird Hot, Banned Books, Laser Background and many others will keep things plenty fun and interesting this Sunday. Check out the full schedule above, and we look forward to seeing you out and about this weekend. 2nd Street Festival, N. 2nd St. (between Green & Germantown Sts.), 12pm - 10pm, Free, All Ages - H.M.
