Blackfoot Gypsies

Show Alert: Chalaxy and Blackfoot Gypsies at Mercy Lounge 5.30

Got plans this weekend? Cancel them, because you belong at Mercy Lounge this Saturday night. This night consists of a double dose of Deli favorites: tribal noise hipsters Chalaxy are celebrating the release of their moody psychedelic single "Dizzy" and are premiering a newly revamped live set. Joining the night are Nashville standbys Blackfoot Gypsies, who have their own big excitements from a recent record deal with Plowboy Records and a new video for "Under my Skin" to boot (check it out below.) We're stoked to see these two merry bands of hustlers in one night, and are equally excited to catch Matt Owen & Eclectic Tuba and Levi Ray for the first time. Saturday's show kicks off at 9pm and will only set you back $5. -Terra James-Jura

The Last Chance Dance is TONIGHT!

Alright ya mooks, our little shindig with Kelly Ruth and friends is TONIGHT! We hope to catch you this evening at Lucky Bamboo (5855 Charlotte Pike, right next to K&S Market), toting a six pack in one hand (remember, it's BYOBeeee!) and a fistful of raffle tickets in the other (we have prizes from Pinewood Social, Sack of Cats, Crema, Lindsay Walker Jewelry and Young Gun Apparel, to name a few.) We have tickets for sale here: http://tickets.soundstampmusic.com/last-chance-dance/, otherwise they will be $10 at the door. There's also the option of paying $20 at the door to take part in a hot pot feast courtesy of our gracious hosts at Lucky Bamboo.  Doors are at 8, then we have Twiggs kicking off the night at 9, followed by Kelly Ruth, Korby Lenker, and Blackfoot Gypsies closing out the night. If you've never had a Blackfoot Gypsy nightcap, it will look a little like this (just, ya know, with a koi pond in the middle of the room. Sidenote, don't molest the koi.):

Road To Bonnaroo: Round Two

Tonight Road To Bonnaroo returns to the Mercy Lounge with round two of their three-round competition that will send three local acts to-- you guessed it-- Bonnaroo this summer. Alanna Royale beat out the competition in the first installment, and tonight eight new acts will take the stage to perform for their chance to be the round two champions. The lineup includes:

Andrew Combs
Blackfoot Gypsies
Hanzelle
Little Bandit
Ranch Ghost
Ravello
Shannon LaBrie
Vinyl Thief

Doors are at 9, and entry is free, but the venue will fill up fast, so get in line early (and bring a coat) so you can cast your vote at the end of the night for your favorite band.

The Deli Nashville's Weekend Itinerary

If you're all dressed up with no place to go this weekend, we've got some suggestions for you...

Friday...

Tonight, the Exit/In is hosting a sweaty roots rock show, highlighting two local acts and one out-of-towner. The Blackfoot Gypsies kick things off with a solid dose of rock swagger and are followed up by fellow Nashvillian, Joshua Black Wilkins and his gritty brand of whiskey folk. Headliner American Aquarium is set to take the stage around 11 pm. You can find the details for this one here.

If you'd like your Friday night activities to be a little more laid-back and bank account-friendly, the free show at the Basement is your jam. Further exemplifying that Nashville is a goldmine of musical talent, TORRES will be hosting her record release show. Sharing the stage with her is the erotically-named, immensely-talented BF/GF Sex and former Floridian, surf rock band Catfish. Get all the info on this show over this way.

Saturday...

Keeping the album release theme going, Sol Cat are heading to the Stone Fox to unveil their self-titled debut. After what felt like an eternity of teases and video premieres, the band are finally unveiling their LP. Joining them for the event are The Weeks and Junior Astronomers. Getcher tickets here.

If you plan to head to the Mercy Lounge on Saturday night, act fast. The venue is sure to fill up with Kopecky Family Band, RayLand Baxter, and indie rock Texans, The Eastern Sea, taking the stage together. All three acts spent 2012 catching a decent amount of heat and hype, so get your tickets early and expect an explosive and fun show.

Sunday...

Typically a quiet day for venues, Butterfly Boucher keeps the party going for one more night over at 3rd & Lindsley. Joe Pug joins her on the bill and, according to the Facebook event, the show will air live on Lightning 100.
