Brandon Can't Dance

Weekend Warrior, September 29 - October 1

Synths interlaced with in-touch storytelling; Brandon Can’t Dance takes a cue from (Sandy) Alex G, demonstrating a keen intimacy with a somewhat laidback aesthetic. However, within that unreserved, let-loose, open-book approach, an unpredictability is preserved. What on the surface appears somewhat casual is twisting sonic textures in a playfully serious manner. Tonight, at The Inconvenience Store, he’ll be joined by Marge, whose ability to simmer in tranquil, fuzz-tinged melodies with scorching capabilities. The quintet of Past Life reels ya in via hard, searing guitars cooked into transparent, hook-laced narratives. This triad of locals is fortified by the bedroom folk of Molly Drag and the candy-coated songwriting of Abbie Kats, a.k.a. Chubby Bunny. – Michael Colavita

Weekend Warrior, April 7 - 9

The world continues its trend of being a chaotic and confusing place. So as the week reaches its tail end, the Pilam Human BBQ XXXIX will be offering a refreshing daylong reprieve this Saturday combining music, eats and whatever your debaucherous heart desires. The noon till midnight billing will include nearly 20 acts in all. Among them, the incisive lyricism of Sad13 delivered on an enthusiastic uplifting danceable platform and the emotive electro-pop/rock of Brandon Can’t Dance, who hovers between a solemn solitude and then swims in a sea of infectious grooves. With a new album Dark Nuclear Bogs set to arrive on April 28, the candy-coated psych-carnival of Laser Background will alter one’s perspective, while the reverberating, relatable melodies of Clique lock into your head as will the spellbinding narratives of this year’s Deli Philly Best Emerging Alt Rock Artists Poll winner, Curtis Cooper.  These are but a small sampling of the lineup, which can view in full HERE, so head over to Pilam for a day of sonic sustenance. - Michael Colavita

New Brandon Can't Dance LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Graveyard of Good Times is the new full-length album from Brandon Ayres, a.k.a. Brandon Can’t Dance, and is now available via London-based indie label Lucky Number Music. Traversing an electro-pop/rock landscape, the collection of songs continuously switches lanes, pushing the pace and then sitting back, before tearing ahead and maintaining a danceable yet mesmerizingly odd tone. Everybody Hits will be hosting a dual record release show this Sunday, January 22 with Marge, and will also include a solo set from The Goodbye Party. (Photo by Ali Lotz)

New Track: "Smoke & Drive Around" - Brandon Can't Dance

Smooth-talking, electro-dance vibes emit from “Smoke & Drive Around,” the new single from Brandon Can’t Dance. The song is featured on his forthcoming album Graveyard of Good Times, slated for release on January 13 via Lucky Number. The accompanying video, which premiered via Noisey, keeps things simple as the slinky weekend beats takeover, erasing one’s weekly stressors. Brandon Can’t Dance will be performing this evening at The Overlook Hotel, alongside QQQ, Hallowed Bells, Repelican, Tuff Turf, 185668232, and Anklepants.

New QQQ EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

QQQ generates soundscapes that travel to futuristic dimensions. His new EP, Vocoder Works, transplants the listener to a new, experimental electro/synth frontier. However, it still retains an exuberant danceable foundation. You can feel the grooves setting your molecules in motion tonight at Everybody Hits, where he'll be performing with Brandon Can't Dance, Oh! Pears, and Iska Dhaff.
