The Dove & The Wolf

Weekend Warrior, May 24 - 26

Conversations (Tone Tree Music), the new album from The Dove & The Wolf, is something worth talking about, and this Saturday, the band, led by Paloma Gil and Louise Hayat, are slated to celebrate its arrival at Johnny Brenda’s. Hypnotic harmonies and subtly layered instrumentation induce an intimate, daydreaming state. The gentle, jangly vulnerability of the songs endears with an empathetic, heart-aching honesty. They'll be joined by multi-instrumentalist and tourmate Michelle Blades, who creates graceful, compelling, genre-experimenting pop. Shamir will also be on hand with their latest, Be the Yee, Here Comes the Haw, in tow. – Michael Colavita

New The Dove & The Wolf LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

The Dove & The Wolf just released their first full-length record, Conversations, via Tone Tree Music. Led by Paloma Gil and Louise Hayat, intertwined harmonies radiate in a soothing yet emotive manner. The delicate, crisp instrumental accompaniment perfectly complements the group's exquisite, wandering, daydream vocals. You can catch The Dove & The Wolf's record release show at Johnny Brenda's on Saturday, May 25, where they'll be supported by Shamir and Michelle Blades. (Photo by Marcus Maddox)

New Track: "Free Around You" - The Dove & The Wolf

“Free Around You” is the latest single from The Dove & The Wolf, and it captures a dreamy intimacy of a meeting. The beauty of vocal harmony takes a somewhat dramatic turn as the hard thump of percussion and horn fills the distance. A natural sense of familiarity allows you to drop your guard and embrace the moment. It's a graceful, loving admission. Conversations, the duo's forthcoming full-length debut is slated for release on May 3. (Photo by Marcus Maddox)

New Track: "Television" - The Dove & The Wolf

Paloma Gil and Louise Hayat-Camard, a.k.a. The Dove & The Wolf, will be self-releasing their first full-length album, Conversations, on May 3. The LP was produced by the duo and Dave Hartley (of Nightlands/The War On Drugs). It also features Japanese Breakfast's Craig Hendrix on drums and The War On Drugs's Charlie Hall on percussion. Check out "Television," the latest single from the band's forthcoming record, below!

New Video: "Linger" (Live - The Cranberries Cover) - The Dove Jeans & Sad Shamir

Las Vegas tranplant Shamir performed in his new hometown of Philly last week at SoFAR Sounds & Amnesty International's worldwide concert series, which benefitted Give a Home, an Amnesty project dedicated to raising money and awareness for the world's refugees. He also teamed up with his new neighbors Sad13, The Dove & The Wolf, and Queen of Jeans, as well as video production crew Out Of Town Films, to record a cover The Cranberries' "Linger" at the Bok Building in South Philly. Dubbed The Dove Jeans & Sad Shamir, you can now check out their live performance video below. You can also catch The Dove & The Wolf and Queen of Jeans, along with Girlpool, at Underground Arts on Thursday, October 12, as part of Red Bull Sound Select's "3 Days in Philly" Festival.
