Laser Background recently shared their new music video for our favorite track, "Pinwheels," off their debut self-titled EP. It was directed by Anthony Zagarella, and the animation was created by Vika Larionova. The band's forthcoming LP Super Future Montage is currently slated for release in September with its opening track "Disappearing Ink" being released as a 7"/digital single in August via their UK label Stroll On Records. Laser Background will be performing next in Philly on Friday, July 12 when they headline at Kung Fu Necktie.

Great Indoors hosts a pair of playfully twisted acts this evening in Banned Books and Laser Background. The trio of Banned Books offers a variation of noise rock whose subdued vocals feed into bursts of energetic instrumentation short raw guitar lines, throbbing bass and timely crashing percussion. Laser Background is the delightfully warped musical exploits of Andy Molholt. Combining a strange daydream vibe with smoothed out pop sensibilities. They’ll be joined by Brooklynites Celestial Shore and Leapling. This evening promises to get weird in a way that you’ll really enjoy. Laser Background mastermind Andy Molholt recently returned home after touring down to SXSW and back with his other project Norwegian Arms. Tonight he’ll be going underground, well, to Underground Arts - that is, when Laser Background opens for Secretly Canadian’s Here We Go Magic. I’m sure that Moholt will be plenty hyped up to play his own tunes and share some of his new material from his upcoming full-length album. So be prepared to match his intensity!
