National Sawdust's Revolution returns on 08.25 with Hadassah, Rae Isla and Madam West

Laser focused on booking the best emerging NYC artists from genres ranging from pop to soul to hip hop, The National Sawdust's monthly Revolution series returns this coming Saturday (August 25th) with its 30th installment involving three talented soulful artists.

Latinx American singer, songwriter, and producer RAE ISLA writes stylish and passionate songs about love and our connection to the divine; African-American female neo-soul singer and songwriter from Long Island, Hadassah delivers experiential stories while fusing jazz, soul, and electronica on a minimalist backdrop; NYC-based psych-soul quintet Madam West seek to find, through their songs, the sunlight that remains—even in a cold-shouldered city, during what often seems like the darkest of times.

Listen to a playlist of their songs below, and don't miss them live on Saturday at Revolution #30!

C'mon Everybody hosts first annual M.I.N.I Festival 6/24

Local funk-rock band Cosmonaut Radio along with the up and coming Clinton Hill venue, C’mon Everybody, has organized the first annual M.I.N.I (Music in Nine Installments) Festival, set for 6/24. The festival will feature a diverse lineup of nine New-York based indie artists including the hip-hop band Track Seven Band and the acid punk artist The U.S. Americans. The festival is intended to become a yearly appointment with local emerging artists - and, as such, it has The Deli's blessings! Check out all the bands involved in the playlist crafted for the event, streaming below. - Tafari Lemma

A night with mom to see local bands? Psychobaby, Cook Thugless, and Madam West play Mercury on 05.08

If your mom rocks and loves to laugh (if so, pretty cool mom you have!) we recommend this show next Sunday 05.08 for Mother's Day: local comedians Catherine Cohen and Steven Markow are hosting a live music event at the Mercury Lounge in honor of our birth-givers. Headlining for the night is Psychobaby (which, coincidentally, is how your mother affectionately called you when you were 2), an alt rock group that combines sharp guitar riffs with robust but overall poppy female vocals. Sharing the LES venue's stage that night will be the also lady-fronted lounge pop band Madam West, and a New JErsey based hip-hop band, Cook Thugless (pictured), whose latest full-length record could be found here.
