Fossilillies is the forthcoming album from Son Step, and is set to come out on May 17 via Grind Select. The experimental pop quartet recently introduced its lead single. “Saucy”. A gentle, bouncy, rhythmic thrust propels the track forward as backend and synth mingle in a vibrant tone. Harmonic, vocal warmth helps to retain a closeness, while exhibiting a drifting-toward-discovery danceability. “Brahma Frizz,” the latest single from Son Step, begins with delicate synths and vocal harmonies in sunrising tones. Then, a low-key but funky groove rolls in as a continuous current of electronics washes in and out. Its sonicly soothing while describing the ambiguity of heartfelt emotions. Feel just a little better this morning! Son Step will take part in a Planned Parenthood benefit at HH Ranch on April 14 with Power Animal, Impressionist, and Paperhaus.

Jon Coyle (of Son Step) recently unearthed and completed a solo track that was actually written four years ago. Available for purchase with 100% of this month’s proceeds being donated to Planned Parenthood, “Rare Air” marries the grogginess of fuzz with the illuminating swing of percussion and keys. Son Step is set to perform next in Philly at Kung Fu Necktie on Tuesday, December 6 with Sunjacket.
