Patrick Droney releases video for "Stand and Deliver"; hits Bonaroo 06.16

This weekend, Bonaroo will bring thousands of music fans to Tennessee; perhaps you know this if you're reading this post from traffic heading to Great Stage Park right now. One of the rising voices at the festival belongs to Patrick Droney, a recent signee to Warner Records who just released the music video for his single "Stand and Deliver". The song highlights Droney's voice and intense bluesy songwriting style, which many might find similar to the likes of John Mayer, Sam Smith, or even early Adam Levine. Droney will perform at Bonaroo on Sunday night of the festival at 3:45 on the Who Stage; later this summer, he'll play Austin City Limits, as well as an opening slot for Sheryl Crow. D.D. Island releases summer-soaked debut LP "Lost Dog"

Summer approaches, and D.D. Island's new album Lost Dog marks the occasion with tracks full of bandleader Brandon Rhodes's chilled-out arrangements and lyrics. Rhodes emerged into the Nashville scene with the release of the EP Last Summer in 2018, and this summer, the singer-songwriter continues to bring light into the world through grooves like "Sawtooth Sunshine", the first single from Lost Dog, which makes for perfect beach hammock music. Rhodes will take D.D. Island in its full band setup on a brief tour later in June to promote Lost Dog. Take a listen to "Sawtooth Sunshine" below. - Will Sisskind

Little Raven release new single "Magic Bullet" from forthcoming EP

If you want to get a little funky, Little Raven -- past winners of The Deli Nashville's Featured Artist poll -- have released a new single called "Magic Bullet" to spice up your week. The single has the makings of an indie funk classic: Keenan Payne pumping away on the bass, Kyle Edmonston keeping dance-friendly time on the drums, and Brad Owens filling in the spaces with some ear candy key riffs. Add Rafael Green making his guitar sing and serenading with his breathy vocals, and you've got a summer track fired straight out of the chamber towards your eardrums. "Magic Bullet" is the first single from Little Raven's forthcoming EP Let It Out, which drops this fall. Take a listen to "Magic Bullet" below. - Will Sisskind

Lost Stars release new summer pop anthem "Enough"

Lost Stars sound like the next band that will take the main stages at the big summer music festivals, what with their massive and anthemic pop sound, their introspective lyrics, and Damian Malnar's powerful vocals. Their new single "Enough" takes inspiration from current mega-groups like The 1975 and Twenty One Pilots, but it avoids sounding derivative and instead brings fresh air into a pop scene that seems saturated. Plus, the message behind "Enough" makes it more than just a pop song; it stands as a testament to pushing forward through mental health struggles and learning what it takes to survive. Take a listen to "Enough" below. - Will Sisskind

Jeff Ruby releases grunge-tinged LP "Spiral"

Jeff Ruby shows his versatile songwriting chops on his new record Spiral, which came out on May 31st. The fifth album from the Indiana-born songwriter, Spiral takes sounds from Ruby's influences -- grunge legends like Nirvana and Soundgarden, and classic bands like The Beatles and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers -- and gives back songs that go soft like a ballad ("Dream State 24") and hard like a grunge anthem ("Doomsday"). Ruby is currently on tour supporting Spiral; at most of his performances on the road, he'll go solo, channeling all of the full-band energy of the tracks on the album through his voice and guitar. Take a listen to the energetic "Doomsday" below. - Will Sisskind
