Country up-and-comer Cotter Hill plays 06.01 at The Basement Nashville

Cotter Hill has the sound of a country artist that's played the game for years, but his first EP Sober Up came out just last year. Hill moved west from Cleveland, TN in 2016 to chase his musical dream, and already he's appeared on the iTunes Country charts, toured the Southeast, and shown up on local radio. Throughout 2019, Hill has continued to build upon his career through even more shows; in fact, you can catch him at The Basement Nashville on June 1st, where he'll perform on a bill with fellow local country artists Justin Spivey and Cameron Blackburn. Take a listen to his single "Forever Works" below. - Will Sisskind

Folk pop duo Hailish release summery self-titled debut EP

As the weather gets warmer, you'll want some summery tunes to take with you to the coast. Hailish -- the folk-pop duo of Ella Fernandez and Hannah Kroh -- have a debut self-titled EP to provide those tracks for you. The songs bounce between jazzy grooves ("Shades"), country-tinged ballads ("Colorado"), and tender moments ("Stay", "No One Knows"). Each song will sound perfect through a Bluetooth speaker at the beach, a loudspeaker at the lake, or through a PA at the pool. After all, there's a reason that Hailish call themselves "beach folk". Take a listen to "Colorado" below. - Will Sisskind

Ida Mae release new LP 06.10 at Grimey's in-store performance

Though Ida Mae call Nashville home now, they originally hail from the UK, but their rough-and-tumble Americana music wouldn't give you that idea. Like current tour buddies Greta Van Fleet, they have mastered the art of borrowing from artists they admire to craft a sound all their own. Ida Mae -- the duo of Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean -- will release their newest album Chasing Lights on June 7, and they'll celebrate the event on June 10 at an in-store performance at Grimey's. Chasing Lights features the production of Ethan Johns, who has worked with Kings of Leon and Laura Marling; Johns' seat-of-your-pants production style and Ida Mae's energy make Chasing Lights an electric listen. Take a look at the music video for the single "Reaching" below. - Will Sisskind

Safari Room and Hari the Band play 05.31 at The Basement

Safari Room have pounded the musical pavement throughout 2019, releasing singles and live sessions, playing shows throughout the city, and working on new material. In June, they plan to trek through the Midwest to perform a handful of shows. But for now, Safari Room will stay in Nashville to play The Basement on May 31st. Hari the Band joins the bill; they too have kept busy throughout the year, planning to release an EP in June. Stay tuned for news about that. In the meantime, mark your calendars for May 31st and take a listen to Safari Room's latest single, "One Day Here", below. - Will Sisskind

The Cerny Brothers play 3rd & Linsley on 05.26 to support new LP

At the beginning of May, Robert and Scott Cerny -- who play music as The Cerny Brothers -- released their newest LP Looking For The Good Land, a disc full of heartland rock that will strike the heartstrings of any Springsteen, Tom Petty, or Neil Young fan. Their music video for "American Whore" even pays a bit of tribute to Springsteen's "Born In The U.S.A."; the critical lyrics and driving refrain, along with the American flag backdrop, help pay into the likeness. The Cerny Brothers will take the stage at 3rd & Linsley on May 26th for a special Memorial Day weekend performance; it's part of a series of dates in support of Looking For The Good Land. Take a listen to "American Whore" below. - Will Sisskind
